DSC_0046Welcome to the Training Division for the Western Taney County Fire Protection District

The Training Division is responsible for coordinating and delivering all training within the fire district and assisting our members to participate in training outside the fire district.

Currently, the Training Division is staffed by two people. Bruce Bjorge is the Assistant Chief of the Division and serves as the program manager for the Division. Capt. John Borel serves as a part time training coordinator and is primarily responsible for the coordination and delivery of two key programs for the fire district. Those programs are our quarterly recruit academies and our Firefighter I & II Programs.

The Training Division offers a key program for individuals wishing to become a firefighter with the fire district. The course is a 40 hour Recruit Academy which uses the basic firefighter curriculum from the Missouri Division of Fire Safety. Once firefighters complete academy, they continue training on several classes to complete their probation training which includes medical first responder, vehicle rescue technician, hazardous materials awareness, IMS 100 and 700, and two different emergency vehicle drivers training programs.

DSC_0029The Training Division also provides monthly training for each firefighter. These trainings are held weekly and include apparatus checks, district training, and station training.

As you look through the pages of the Training Division, you will find several resources to help you find what you need for training resources, calendar of upcoming events, and links other organizations webpages.

With the Western Taney County Fire District, training is one of the cornerstones of what makes our fire district great and is key to the success of our organization.
