Hazardous Materials Technician course is designed as an 80 hour course. The course uses a curriculum developed by the Taney County Local Emergency Planning Committee and the Virginia Emergency Management Agency. The course is a lecture based class with powerpoint and video audio visual aids. This course also requires numerous practical evolutions. A student manual and PPE is provided to each student. After passing a written examination and practical skills competencies, a completion certificate is issued by the Taney County Local Emergency Planning Committee.
