- ROOKIE SCHOOL
- This is the first level of training for all recruits.
The course is a 40 hr. course conducted on simultaneous weekends.
The training will start on a Friday evening at 6:00 PM and last about
4 hours. Followed by a Saturday
and Sunday session, which starts each day at 8:00 AM and lasts about 8 hrs.
A course completion certificate is presented to those completing the
training.
- After completing Rookie School, each Rookie has one year to complete 5 mandatory
courses.
- These courses are: First
Responder, Vehicle Rescue Technician, Hazardous Materials Incident Response
– Awareness, Emergency Vehicle Drivers Training and National Incident
Management System - IS100 & IS700.
- When these courses are completed the Rookie advances to Firefighter
Status.
