Rope Rescue: Technician
Technical rescues that involve differences of elevation
may require the use of ropes to access and evacuate victims. Special skills and
equipment are required for these types of incidents. This course is a 24-hour
course and will address Chapter 6, Rope Rescue, of NFPA 1006, Rescue Technician
Professional Qualifications, 2003 edition. The advanced skills taught in this
course include multiple point anchor systems, compound mechanical advantage
systems, ascending and descending fixed rope systems, highline systems, and
victim movement.
