Besides EMS response, technical rescue is the second largest percentage of
our calls. With the wide realm of rescues needed, this section contains courses
that meet NFPA 1670 and NFPA 1006 national standards for technical rescue.
This course will introduce
rescue personnel to the basic needs to perform at technical rescue incidents and
will address Chapter 5 of NFPA 1006, Rescue Technician Professional
Qualifications, 2003 edition. The job performance requirements defined in this
chapter must be met prior to certification as a Rescue Technician for any
discipline. Participants of this class will learn rescue site operations, victim
management, maintenance of equipment, and ropes and rigging through a
combination of lecture, demonstration and practical skill exercises.
The course is a 16 hours course.
